campaign for Satellite Security.

CAMPAIGN MODEL:

PITCH

The brief given to me from Red Balloon Security was to create a poster, landing page, and Instagram posts to promote their Satellite Security program at DefCon (The largest hacking and security conference). 

AUDIENCE

Hackers and gamers. Edgier, male-dominated, thrill-seeking, nerdy.  

SEQUENCE

Poster (introduction to campaign, first thing people see, make people interested)
Instagram Posts (gives teaser information in a playful way. Piques interest and encourages viewers to visit the website.)
Website (gives full information and offers motivation to stay involved.)

IDEA

Since this was meant to appeal to hackers at a convention that is known to be exciting and fun, I wanted to appeal to people's inner nerd. I centered the campaign around the idea of Cybersecurity Superheroes that are defending the planet. I wanted to offer an interactive, story-telling element to keep people engaged and encourage conversation, so I created playable characters with different comic-book-esque storylines that people can follow.

POSTER:

INTRODUCTION

The poster is the first asset in the Satellite Security campaign. It's meant to introduce the "superhero" in a vague, mysterious way. 

I wanted people to view the poster and ask "who is this guy?" and feel enticed to learn more.

It gives enough information that people will understand the general idea of what's being offered, but leaves enough unanswered to make people curious.

INSTAGRAM POSTS:

VERSION A

This series of posts offers assets pulled from the poster for continuity and highlights the main information for viewers who weren't on DefCon.

VERSION B

This series of posts highlights the playable superhero characters. It invites viewers to look into who these characters are.

WEBPAGE:

Includes graphics that align with the poster style, a menu bar for additional information, encourages topic exploration. It leads with the title of the program "Satellite Security" and then offers a call-to-action button to "defend" your planet. The button leads to choosing your character and starting your storyline. Each character offers a different area of defense and playable journey.
