DUMPSTER FOX

Tour campaign.

ABOUT:

Dumpster Fox is a punk/grunge band originating in Portland, OR.
Their band name is based on an unsolicited photo of a fox that one of the band member's f*ckboy's sent them from Alaska.

For this campaign, they wanted the design to feel edgy and brooding, yet slightly ethereal.

ALBUM ARTWORK:

DUMPSTER FOX - SLEEP DEPRIVED

The album explores themes of wavering consciousness, instability, and feelings of restlessness.
I texturized the artwork with halftones, scratch marks, and blurs to deliver feelings of distress and dizziness.

The cover art features the same fox from the original f*ckboy photo. I placed a bright yellow stripe to highlight the title of the album and fall over the fox's face – essentially "lighting it up" – a visual metaphor for the album's name.

The CD itself has a dingey dumpster front and center covered in messy graffiti and a similar halftone effect as the fox. The dumpster isn't the star of the show, a position reserved for Mr. Fox, so I made it closer to the background color.
A yellow highlight – this time a circle to mimic the shape of the disk – spotlights the title of the album.

BIG 4 TOUR

The name of the tour is inspired by the 4 hometowns of each of the band members.

POSTER VARIATIONS

Inspired by the tour name, 4 slightly different color variations were made to post around the cities. The idea was that even if you saw one of the posters before, when you happen to come across another (different) one, your attention will still be drawn. Whether through piqued curiosity or maybe even subtle confusion – eluding to the "acid trip" experience where you feel like something is just a little bit off.
