BURN IT DOWN

Because I appreciate women holding power.

Before & After. This was actually inspired by the Inktober prompt "ash" so I wanted to convey her body turning to ash as she holds this fire. The idea I wanted to get across was a shift in demeanor and the power that requires. I chose blue as a color palette for the figure to portray gloom/darkness/sadness and I wanted to use the fire as a means of transformation out of that. Change is often stressful but necessary, and this was my take on that action.

This was the initial drawing that inspired the "ash" rendition. This drawing was actually the first Inktober that I participated in years prior. It ended up being one of my favorites, so I knew I wanted to recreate it.
